Olin's version of the New York Lions

The NYPL has its lions, Patience and Fortitude, we have our peacocks, and ours are live! This pair have been spotted on campus before. On Sunday morning Les Lloyd spotted them enjoying the Library's atrium and patio. They must have wandered around Lake Virginia from the Genius Reserve, where a resident flock have lived for many years.

When I was little, we natives used to enjoy going back there to Genius and seeing the peacocks. Sadly, they had to close off the road to the public after some vandalism...and if memory serves, somebody shot one of the birds with a bow.

Beautiful! What a picture! Maybe you should adopt them as a symbol of the library. Put them on the letterhead...

What a pretty picture! You should have iron replicas made and permanently put them there.
